So while I'm fascinated and intrigued by the idea, I'm also a bit nervous. What if what she says is right? Not that I'm scared to hear what she has to say but to come to the realization that people do have a power to see your future...gives me the heebie jeebies. I've always been one to steer away from things like that. The idea that some people claim they can see your future, communicate with the dead, so on and so forth has always been creepy to me.
Really, given my background, I shouldn't. This leads me to speak of my late grandmother. A strong woman, a brave woman, a woman who had her time rebelled against what society required of a woman. The more I hear of my grandmother's youth and early days, the more I wish to be like her...maybe I will. To keep with the theme of my blog...I will tell you about a story, it's not long but very "interesting."
My mom mentioned a while ago, that back in the day when my grandmother was younger (I would say late 30's), she used to be very spiritual. Very much into the saints and communicating with spirits. She actually used to conjure up (repeatedly) a spirit of a woman named Francisca. She used to speak like the woman...eeeekkk! How creepy is that!?!
Well, I'm going to the spiritualist and I'll let everyone know how that goes...

Dude I want to go!! I have to be a witness to this.
We're on...this weekend. It'll be perfect.
My boyfriend & I went to a tarot card reader in New Orleans. After our introductions, she burped and said something about root beers and sleeping the the park.
She also told us about her rock star musician boyfriend, who dumped her and made her move his belongings out of his house. She had to find a truck, too.
AND, she "read" the cards before she even laid eyes on them.
It was a blast, seriously! :)
I'm really looking forward to it! I'll let you know how it goes...
Dude... I have been dying to go to one too but I am SO SCARED!!!! What if she tells me horrible things too!!! I am scared!
I wanna go too - damn you for living so far!! If we have time - you'll have to go again with me. I want the same card reader stephanie went to! That sounds hilarious!!
We will go, let's just fit it in our plans. Stephanie went to a reader in New Orleans, you're waaaaayyy closer than me.
Well, this is a fun experience(really), but it's also a business based on what seems to be nothing.
As far as studies go, nobody ever proved any supernatural effect. mark my words: EVER.
So I'm not saying "I hold the truth in the palm of my hand", far from it.
But a really good spiritualist is likely to just be a guy mastering technics, so they don't even truelly believe in what they do, which is sad.
Plenty of behavioral psychologists have shown they are able to do exactly what the best mind readers, tarrot card readers and 'let's read your future together' kind of ppl can do.
On the other hand, it's all about entertainment and lifestyle. And the bright side is that if you have some deep questions about urself, the very fact that another person can answer those for you, is likely to mean that these answers are available to you too.:)
gnite!
and I do possess tarrot cards : P (I'm a mean capitalist, I dont have any principle) (and I think tarrot is fun, especially the part when i invent reading technics on the fly and make it look deep and mysterious)
